It's harder to explain the nightly spikes in VOCs with no corresponding spikes in particulate matter, but it's fun to speculate. Our two dogs sleep in our bedroom with us, with their (ahem) attendant nocturnal exhalations. A family of skunks also uses our yard as a personal commuter highway, traveling by night between our neighborhood's garbage cans and the enormous wooded park behind our house. They smell strongly enough to have woken me up multiple times in the middle of the night, but with the Pure Cool on, I haven't noticed them.

Actual shoji screens open to a large combined living-and-dining room with parquet floors and built-in corner cabinets and shelves. A: One day I looked inside my medicine cabinet and thought: Whose stuff is all this? I took 50 things out of the bathroom including five nail clippers — things left behind by now-grown children and past roommates. Then I thought: What else do we have around this house that we don’t need? We could give away 1,000 things. I hired a Hennepin County Master Recycler to help me figure out how to move this stuff along. She identified where things should go, who could reuse this, who could take that packaging. A whole bunch of building materials were posted to online groups and people came by to haul away things I never imagined anyone would want, including old, damaged ceiling tiles for a basement recording studio. Twenty partial cans of paint went to a theater person for props. Other items ended up at a church rummage sale. By the end of the year, we had given away 1,079 things that didn’t end up in the landfill.

Cooked beef, pork, and chicken were prepared in a private home that was not approved by the Department; the facility lacked an indirectly plumbed food prep sink to properly wash produce; interior surfaces of the ice machine were soiled; mouse droppings were found on shelving in the basement storage area and on the floors under shelving in the basement storage area; loose rodent bait packets were found under shelving in the basement storage area, and not stored in tamper resistant boxes; the food safety certified person was not present during the inspection; food employees were donning single use gloves without a prior hand wash and did not follow proper handwash procedures; items unnecessary to the facility’s operations were cluttered in the basement storage area and presented a potential harborage area; warewash sinks did not have basins large enough to accommodate the largest piece of equipment needing manual cleaning; cutting boards and food storage containers; alteration or construction began prior to plan submission and approval.

Theresa May’s deal has been rejected. My stomach is rumbling ominously, like the nation. Yet it’s medicine shortages that panic most people. “I can prep against almost anything,”  says Elgarf. “But I can’t prep against Nora’s medicine running out.” Anyone trying to secure more than a month’s medication should, in theory, be flagged. 

No one was more surprised than me by what a terrific money saver a dehydrator can be. Of course, you have to actually use it. But when you do, you’ll be quite amazed.

These dehyrdators will toast all that moisture out of your filament, but it wont keep them dry whilst printing. For that problem, you’ll need to summon a heated drybox like this one.

It’s usually better to purchase from reputable nurseries with knowledgeable staff than from discount stores and big box chains. Unscrupulous retailers have been known to remove leaves from bare root plants so that they looked dormant when they aren’t. Emerging leaf buds or flowers mean that plants have come out of dormancy, and picking off their new growth robs the awakening plants of valuable energy.

The first stage in solar drying, in terms of design sophistication, is the “hot box” dryer in which the food is enclosed and protected in a box or tent with a clear covering. This design might resemble a cold frame or a miniature greenhouse.
