Dehydrators are similar to dryers. Both use convection airflow for the heat transfer and moisture removal. Marlen International, Riverside, Missouri, has developed a new high-performance industrial dehydrator focused on airflow efficiencies which enables better control of air movement inside the cabinet. Increased air velocity over the surface of the product results in rapid moisture removal, faster drying cycles and more uniform process conditions. Marlen’s design keeps a permanent balance of supply and return air for better performance which is essential for repeatable results. “We monitor relative humidity during the dehydration process,” says Marty Wimmer, thermal product sales manager for Marlen International. “Product uniformity is critical for dehydration. More innovative dehydration technologies ensure efficient management of process air which leads to faster drying times with less energy consumption compared to older, less efficient models.”
In a secure vault in the suburbs of Paris, an egg-sized cylinder of metal sits in a climate-controlled room under three glass bell jars. It is the mass against which all other masses in the world are measured - by definition ...
Away from the vibration test cells is a fabrication and storage area for the fixtures. A new fixture is made here every day in the workshop, which employs four technicians. On the opposite side of the laboratory to the test chambers are a number of smaller, self-contained test cells, where most HALT and HCF tests are conducted on many components and products, ranging from turbine blades from Rolls-Royce engines to cell phones. The equipment used in these test cells is smaller – air jets to create vibration and non-contact measurement tools such as laser vibrometers.
If you get stranded, staying in your vehicle is often the safest choice, says Lawson, who offers these added tips:
Theyâre so important that whole companies are dedicated to providing would-be survivalists with ready-made bug out bags. Assembling your own is a straightforward and inexpensive alternative, however, that requires common materials found in most tool sheds and garages. Hereâs a list of everything you need for a proper DIY bug out bag.
Now, we’ve banished all bags from our van. Instead, we pack clothes into InterDesign clear bins from the Container Store. Although originally designed for fridges and pantries, the Jumbo size fits in many upper cabinets, and the smaller bins are good for holding socks, gloves, or hats. Because we pack straight into the clear bins, things are easy to see, clothes stay more organized, and we don’t have to try to store awkward duffle bags when we’re on the road.
You can kiss the pasty legs goodbye after a few delightfully-smooth applications of Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer. It loads skin up with moisture and then offers a very-subtle self-tanner that’s virtually impossible to mess up, even for the most novice DIY tanners. It adds just the right amount of glow so you feel confident baring a little skin.
The McKinley Climatic Laboratory at the Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the largest controlled-environment facility in the world and has five testing chambers. The Laboratory’s main chamber is 252ft (77m) wide, 260ft (79m) long and 70ft (21m) high. The facility can simulate temperatures from -65 to 165˚F (-53 to 74˚C) and can reach -65˚F (-53˚C) in less than 24 hours.
Heat works faster and better than silica. Silica is good for extracting moisture from the air but it doesn’t necessarily free it from within the plastic, especially at room temperature or colder. Some of the industrial plastic dryers use both heat and silica to dry the plastic before extrusion & injection molding.
Due to conditions observed during the inspection, the establishment agreed to discontinue food operations and voluntarily close until it is approved by the Department to resume operations. Inspected Jan. 15.
