It's harder to explain the nightly spikes in VOCs with no corresponding spikes in particulate matter, but it's fun to speculate. Our two dogs sleep in our bedroom with us, with their (ahem) attendant nocturnal exhalations. A family of skunks also uses our yard as a personal commuter highway, traveling by night between our neighborhood's garbage cans and the enormous wooded park behind our house. It’s impossible to say how well the Pure Cool removed air pollution, since I wasn’t scientifically testing it in a sealed chamber with a measurable amount of particulates. Anecdotally, however, my husband and I have been sleeping very well.
